Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pepmunk (“Pepmunk”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Pepmunk mobile app. Pepmunk is a tracker for people who use peptides. It is built to keep the data you log on your device, and it has no accounts and no sign in.

Data that stays on your device

Everything you log in Pepmunk, including the peptides and compounds you track, your protocols, doses, injection sites, vials, body weight, journal entries, side effects, and notes, is stored only in a local database on your device. This information is not sent to us and is not stored on any server we control. Because it lives on your device, it may be included in your own device backups, for example iCloud, which are controlled by you and governed by Apple.

Anonymous analytics

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, Pepmunk collects a small amount of anonymous usage data through PostHog, an analytics provider. PostHog processes and stores this data on servers in the European Union.

What is collected: app interactions, such as which screens you open, which setup questions you answer and which options you pick, how far you get through the app tour, and whether you reach the subscription screen. Alongside these we receive your device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, screen size, and a randomly generated identifier that lets us tell one anonymous install from another. That identifier is created on your device, and the same one is used for your subscription so that both fit together.

What is never collected: the health information you log. Your peptides and compounds, doses, injection sites, vials, body weight, journal entries, side effects, and notes are never sent to analytics. Anything you type in a free text field stays on your device. We also do not collect your name, your email address, your location, or any advertising identifier, and we do not combine this data with data from other companies’ apps or websites. We review analytics in aggregate and use it only to operate and improve Pepmunk.

Subscriptions

Pepmunk offers an optional paid subscription. Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and purchased through Apple’s App Store. When you buy or restore a subscription, we receive your subscription status and a randomly generated identifier from RevenueCat, along with the basic technical information needed to manage it. Apple processes your payment. We do not receive your name, card number, or other payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, and we use it only to respond to you.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We share information only with the providers that help us run Pepmunk, namely PostHog for analytics and RevenueCat and Apple for subscriptions, and only so they can provide their service to us. We may disclose information if we are required to by law.

Data retention

Analytics events are kept by PostHog for up to seven years, and subscription data is kept by our provider for as long as needed for the purposes described here. The data you log in the app stays on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app.

Your choices

You can delete the data you logged at any time inside the app, or remove the app to delete its local database. Because the rest of what we collect is anonymous and not linked to your identity, there is very little personal information for us to act on. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information about you. You can email us at privacy@pepmunk.com with any question or request and we will help.

Children

Pepmunk is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be reflected in the app or here.
